Love Makes Us Whole
We go through life looking for love outside,
Thinking this life is our only ride.
That we need a partner to feel complete,
And that being alone is its own defeat.
Love knows no distance, no rules, nor space.
It lives in our hearts, not a time or a place.
Lifetime upon lifetime, our only goal,
Is to find love within our very own soul.
Love makes us whole.
Love makes us whole.
Shouts from the outer world pierce and sting.
They say, “You’ll be loved if you do this one thing.”
But one thing’s not enough and we sink into despair.
We look at our life and think love isn’t fair.
We chase love in bling and cars and clout.
We take our selfies with the perfect pout,
All the while thinking times running out,
‘Cause no one will love us when we’re old, no doubt.
Love knows no distance, no rules, nor space.
It lives in our hearts, not a time or a place.
Lifetime upon lifetime, our only goal,
Is to find love within our very own soul.
Love makes us whole.
Love makes us whole.
