Rise
When power is the mission, we all suffer.
When greed is the motive, we all suffer.
When separation is the mainstay, we all suffer.
When fear is the message, we all suffer.
Humanity has endured many tests.
And we always fail when we deem it a contest,
Between men and women or the haves and the suppressed,
Making one group exalted and the other unblessed.
But God never said we should ever oppress.
Or that any one of us was evil or less.
Or to use a religion as a reason to conquest.
But rather love one another as you would your best.
And treat everyone as unique treasure chests,
Making love of mankind your only quest.
Separation comes from those self-obsessed,
Who live in fear of being second best,
They run the world like the Wild Wild West.
Tossing integrity away for their own interest.
Like Nurse Ratched in the Cuckoo’s Nest,
Making the vulnerable even more hard-pressed.
We can all step up and not acquiesce,
To brutality, racism and political incest.
To power in excess and speech not expressed.
To judging people’s worth on the basis of sex.
To accepting our dreams will not manifest.
It’s time for unity amongst the rich and the poor.
It’s time for us to rate color no more.
It’s time to stop sending our children to war.
It’s time for compassion to rise up with a roar.
It’s time for bullies to leave their dicks at the door!
When equality is the mission, we all rise.
When sharing is the motive, we all rise.
When inclusion is the mainstay, we all rise.
When love is the message, we all rise.
When ONE rises, we ALL rise.
Power to Humanity…We can do it!
